THE CHAPEL SHOW
Episode: S02E13
Date: 13/09/2015

The video begins and we see what seems like Lexy and Nate filming something that they’re up to which seems to involve packing up the car. There’s music playing over the footage as Nate carries bags to the car. The music is decidedly ‘creepy’. After a few seconds of video footage we see the video pause and zoom in on something in the background. In the background, which wasn’t immediately obvious, is a car with a man sitting inside. The video isn’t clear enough to see exactly who it is. We then continue with the creepy music as we cut again and we see a car park at what looks like the mall. Nate is filming Lexy this time as she’s showing off the bags that she’s picked up from the mall. She’s laughing but again we don’t hear any audio and instead we cut to the same model of car from before that’s in the background of the video, and once again we zoom in to see someone behind the wheel. The video is higher quality this time but the angle we’re zoomed in at means we can’t see the guy’s face all that clearly, however it definitely seems to be the same guy as before. Finally we cut back to the house again. Lexy is unpacking the same bags she had at the mall. In the background we see the car pull up again. We zoom in for a third time on the driver and this time we see his face. It seems to be Alex Desoubrais Jr. The creepy music hits its climax on that image.

We then cut from the three video clips to the bedroom of Nate and Lexy Chapel at their home in Thousand Oaks. Lexy is sat on her bed, the IWC Tag Team Championship on the bed beside her, with her legs crossed and wearing just her underwear and a shirt that reads ‘Stop Undressing Me With Your Eyes – Use Your Teeth’. She smirks at the camera before patting the IWC Tag title proudly. “What’s up fuckers? I’m Lexy Chapel, this is the Chapel Show, and I have to say the last four weeks have been… interesting,” she says before looking uncertainly at the camera. “There’s been a lot of crazy going on in the wrestling world, hasn’t there? Over on Uprising we’ve seen a champion crowned, we’ve seen titles changing hands and we’ve seen challengers rising for these tag team championships. Back on Riot we’ve heard all kinds of build up for the Number One Contendership Tournament, including as you know my unending support for Kat Lexy ChapelKelly, the official Wicked Intent representative in this tournament who’s taking the hardest route possible – but they say diamonds are formed under pressure, and you might just find that she’s the diamond you weren’t expecting her to be, all you doubters out there – but there’s something that nobody is talking about. Nobody is talking about Champion versus Champion this week. Trust me, we’ll get to that in a bit. But first…”

She picks up the IWC Tag Team title and puts it over her shoulder. She looks at the belt for a moment before smirking at the camera. “Now, I know what you guys think about me. I’m no fool. I know the way the fans look at the actions of Wicked Intent since we debuted. I know the way they locker room reacts to everything we’ve done. We haven’t been angels. We haven’t be good little girls sitting in the back waiting for someone to come along and tell us that we’ve got a chance. Do you know why? Because in this business that doesn’t happen! Nobody comes up to you in the wrestling business and says you’re being given a chance. That’s because there are a thousand egotistical motherfuckers ahead of you in the queue, and if you stand there twiddling your thumbs and waiting for someone to give you a chance then you’ll look ahead and there will be another two hundred who’ve jumped in ahead of you. Believe me, I know that better than anyone,” she says before laughing aloud. “Did anyone give me a chance last year? No, they didn’t. Nobody gave me a helping hand while I was sleeping in my car after shows. Nobody gave me a chance and barely getting paid. Nobody gave me a chance, and nobody wanted to give me a hope. They look down their noses at me and they tell me that I’m not good enough, and to them I say simply this…”

She takes the IWC Tag Team title off her shoulder and holds it up to the camera. “Yeah, I don’t need to say a fucking word, you can just look at this, look at the fact that Wicked Intent are STILL the IWC Tag Team Champions, and the fact is that I don’t need to say anything. Nobody gave Wicked Intent a hope when we debuted, nobody was willing to give up their spots, but look at what we’ve done. We’ve taken our spots. We’ve Superkicked our way into the minds of every motherfucker in this company. And at Awakening we decided we’d have a little fun. At Awakening we decided we’d put on a little show for everyone. At Awakening we decided we’d poke a little fun at our opponents, and at the horrible state of cinema the last few months, and what happened? Well, Selena Frost can’t take criticism. We all know that! She wanted to get a laugh over us. Who’s laughing now, Selena?” she asks before patting the Tag Team Championship and putting it back over her shoulder again. “The ‘Queen of the Triad’ and the supposed next big thing teamed up to try to take these titles from us, and not only are we STILL the IWC Tag Team Champions, but at Awakening I finally put a stop to one of the most ridiculous of records in this company. See, I’ve heard that nobody had pinned Selena Frost before Awakening. I’ve heard nobody put that bitch down before me.”

She laughs and nods her head. “To that I say simple this: you’re welcome, IWC. You’re fucking welcome! The ‘Queen’ fell at Awakening, Silverstone International realised they didn’t have all the answers OR all the loyalty they thought they did, Alistair Taylor finally grew a pair and sided with the hottest team in pro-wrestling – and I mean that in terms of the fact that Wicked Intent is on fire right now, not so much that we’re the beauty queens of this business, although, you know, I do look pretty goddamn hot – and there were celebrations in Japan when Wicked Intent left that ring after the injustice of having to fight these two in the first place, still with the hardware that we value above anything else in this business,” she says with pride. “And that’s the truth right there. We’re not a tag team because we’re waiting on other opportunities. We didn’t team up to take over this division because we were hoping someone would come along and give us World title shots. We teamed up to become not just the best tag team in IWC but the best tag team in the world, to take the IWC Tag Team Championships and make them the IWC WORLD Tag Team Championships by proving that we are the best that is on offer, and look how far we’ve come while we’re still learning! Now I know who I’m associated with but there’s a reason I don’t say the things others do on Twitter…”

She nods her head. “There’s a reason I don’t end every tweet with ‘hash tag Monarchy’. There’s a reason that I don’t outwardly claim to be a part of that group, because in my mind I’m not ready yet. Am I one half of the hottest tag team on the planet? Absolutely. But am I one of the elite of this business? Am I as good as I’m going to get? Am I dominating in the way that they are? No, I’m not. I’m still learning. I’m still getting better. I’m still finding out what works and what doesn’t. I’m still finding myself in that ring, and each and every time I step in front of the sold out IWC crowds you know what you see, don’t you? You see Lucas Knight’s protégé, this little girl from England, stepping up to bigger challenges week after week and getting BETTER every time,” she says with pride before pausing for a moment to let that sink in. “And guys, I don’t mean to sound like a jackass right now but if I’m this good already, if Wicked Intent have come this far already, just stop for a moment and imagine how far we can go! You guys, you’re in a pretty special situation right now because you’re watching the building of the future. That’s what we are. That’s what Lexy Chapel and Kat Kelly are. Right now we are the reigning, defending and greatest IWC Tag Team Champions you’ve ever seen, and each week as we get better and better you’re seeing the future unfolding…”

“But… well, sometimes you get a chance to take a giant leap forward in your evolution, and after pinning Selena Frost’s shoulders to the mat at Awakening I get a chance to take the next step in my professional life this week on Riot. But what about my personal life? What steps have I taken there? You guys have been following this story with me as I’ve been living it, haven’t you? I introduced myself to you on apparently false pretences, telling you what I knew at the time. I introduced you to my family, to my brothers, and to the man I thought was my father. I was wrong about that. I was wrong about where I came from, and ever since I found that out I’ve been asking myself the same question every damn week. Who am I? Well apparently I’m not the only one asking that question,” she says before shaking her head slowly. “Yeah, you saw how this episode began, didn’t you? It began because Nate and I went back through some videos we filmed lately, some stuff we might have shown you, only to find that there was a reoccurring pattern, and one that I didn’t know what to think about. What do you think when you find out someone’s following you? What do you think when you learn someone is watching you everywhere you go? Do you feel threatened? Are you scared? Do you call the cops? I had no idea how I was supposed to feel. I found out though. Enjoy the show…”

The Chapel Show

“Maybe it’s just a coincidence?” Nate suggests. The camera seems to be on a stand as Nate is sat in front of his laptop and Lexy is sat nervously on his lap. In front of them is the video editing software they use to put together episodes of the Chapel Nate ChapelShow. Lexy turns to look at him and its clear she doesn’t believe that at all. “Ok, well I know it looks bad, but let’s not jump to any conclusions…”

“Maybe it’s coincidence?” Lexy asks in complete disbelief. “Are you fucking serious, babes? Its just coincidence that he happens to be in California and just happens to pull up and stop outside our house, twice? Damn, of all the places in all the world…”

Nate laughs. “Yeah, ok, I know it’s unlikely but I’m just saying we shouldn’t be jumping to conclusions, that’s all,” he says before moving the mouse and clearly watching one of the clips again. “Ok, take this for example… you can’t tell it’s definitely him. It’s a long way away and the quality just degrades when you zoom in…”

“It’s the same car,” Lexy tells him.

“Yeah, but you can’t see the plate,” Nate insists. “So sure, I mean it’s the same model of car, but there’s no proof that it’s the exact same car. Maybe it’s just someone waiting for someone down the street. I mean, that looks like a pretty standard model, right? And black? C’mon, if it was pink or yellow then maybe, but a black sedan waiting down the street? That could be anything…”

Lexy just glares again. “Babes, do you really believe that?” she asks, shaking her head. “You’re the guy who believes every blinking light in the sky could be a UFO. You’re the guy who was convinced that the US military were hiding proof of aliens. You’re the guy who was so certain that the World Trade Center thing was a conspiracy you actually had me believing it….”

“Ok, first off you’ve SEEN the evidence, there ARE aliens,” Nate says defensively.

Lexy just laughs and kisses her husband lovingly. “I know babes, I know,” she says supportively. “But c’mon, seriously, you think weird lights in the sky are proof of aliens and you don’t believe that—”

“Oh, I’m not saying I don’t believe it,” Nate tells her lovingly. “I mean god, the moment you showed me that video and I knew I’d seen that car yesterday… but I just don’t want you to worry, babe. I don’t want you being scared.”

“You think I’m scared?” Lexy asks, trying to sound tough.

Nate kisses her lovingly. “You don’t need to be. You’ve got me to protect you, you know that,” Nate tells her before reaching down and picking up a cricket bat. “Well, me and old smashie here. And if he is after you for whatever reason I’m going to introduce him to smashie up close and personal…”

We hear a bark. Lexy laughs and leans down and scoops up Mr Woofers before kissing him and putting him back down again. “Aw, my boys, so protective,” she says proudly. “Well, that or Mr Woofers wants to go for a poop…”

Nate laughs. “Yeah babe, we are protective. And I’m just saying that you don’t need to be worrying about this,” Nate tells her lovingly. “There’s no point stressing over it until we know for sure. It could just be coincidence. And it definitely looks like him, but there’s no guarantee that it is him. Besides, why would he even be after you anyway?”

Lexy shrugs her shoulders. “I don’t know. Maybe he… um… I don’t know,” she says again before letting out a sigh. “Maybe he just wants to talk.”

“Yeah, maybe,” Nate agrees, clearly not believing that as much as Lexy obviously wants to. “But whatever he wants, you can’t let him dictate your life, ok? I don’t want you shutting down or being afraid. We’re going to deal with this. Hell, next time I see that car I’m going to go right up to the car and I’ll—”

Lexy kisses him happily. “I know you will babes,” she tells him lovingly before jumping up off his lap. “And you’re right. I’m not just going to sit here. Mr Woofers wants to go out. I promised I’d take him for a walk, so I will. You want to go walkies, don’t you? Yes you do!”

Lexy picks up Mr Woofers again and gives him another kiss before opening a drawer and pulling out his leash. He starts getting ridiculous excited, running around her feet as Nate gets up from the computer, turning it off in the process. “Why don’t you let me take him?” he suggests. When Lexy looks at him he just shrugs. “What? You did say that I should walk him more. I’m offering…”

“You’re offering because you don’t want me to go out there,” Lexy says before sighing again. “I’ll be fine babes...”

“Then I’ll come,” Nate suggests. Lexy is about to argue when Nate stops her. “No, c’mon, it’s been ages since we went for a walk together. It’ll be… romantic.”

“Right, romantic,” Lexy says before laughing. “Ok, you can come, as long as you’re the one who scoops up the poop.”

“Aw, dammit,” Nate groans before looking down at Mr Woofers. “You see what you’ve gotten me into now, you goddamn little poop machine you? Aw, who am I kidding, I can’t stay mad at you…”

Lexy is finally able to get the leash on the dog as we skip forward a little. We see Lexy outside in the neighbourhood walking the dog and laughing at something that Nate has obviously said as we cut back in, with Nate clearly the one behind the camera. Lexy pulls on the leash as Mr Woofers attempts to pull. “Eventually you’re going to get over this poop fear you have,” Lexy says, still laughing. “I swear, it was your idea to get a dog as well…”

“Well yeah, but I just naturally assumed you’d handle cleaning up his poop,” Nate says, laughing and then obviously noticing Lexy isn’t laughing. He turns the camera to what she’s looking at. Parked across the street opposite the house is the same black sedan we’ve seen in the beginning of the video. Nate puts his hand on Lexy’s shoulder. “C’mon babe, just ignore it. We’ll go in the house and we’ll call the cops.”

“No, you know what? Fuck the cops,” Lexy says sternly before beginning to walk toward the house again, her eyes completely focused on the sedan, before she begins shouting. Hey! I know you’re in the car. I know you’re watching me. What’s your problem?”

“Lex, let’s deal with this the smart way,” Nate tells her. “I’ll get smashie, and we’ll wait in the house for the cops, and—”

He reaches out and puts a hand on her shoulder but she brushes it off. No,” she insists, beginning to up her pace even more as she walks toward the car. “C’mon, I know who you are. I know you’re in there. How long are you going to keep following me? How long are you going to keep doing this?”

The driver’s side door of the car opens and Lexy’s bravado quickly seems to fade as she looks over at Nate with a worried look. After a few seconds we see a figure, most definitely Alex Desoubrais Junior, get out. He looks over the car at Lexy whose confidence very quickly fades. “What can I say, I was curious,” he says as he looks over at Lexy and then briefly glances at Nate. “You know, when you read on the Internet that there’s a woman out there who’s claiming that she might be your half-sister you can’t help but get a little curious about it.”

“Oh yeah,” Lexy replies. She’s clearly nervous now. “So, what? You just decided you’d come drive around California looking for me?”

“You’re not hard to find,” he tells her before laughing. “You put your house on the Internet too. You really should think that all the way through in the future. You never know who might be out there…”

“I’ll take that under advisement,” Lexy says hesitantly. She looks over her shoulder toward Nate again before looking back at their guest. “So… is that why you’ve been following me? You figured you’d stalk me a little and then give me some advice about security? Because, you know, you could have sent me an email. My email address is on the Internet too…”

“No, I had another reason,” he says before looking toward the house. “Don’t suppose you want to take this somewhere a little more private, do you?”

“Well, that depends on what ‘this’ is,” she says, still incredibly defensive. “What do you want?”

“I want to talk to you. It’s about my father,” he tells her firmly.

“You wait here, I’ll get smashie, and—” Nate begins before Lexy cuts him off by responding to Alex Junior.

“I guess you could come inside,” Lexy tells him, not taking her eyes off of him now. “We’ve got tea. Or, um… I don’t know what you drink.”

“No need to worry about me,” Alex Junior tells her.

Nate is clearly not happy with the idea. “Lex, I don’t think Kat’s going to be too happy with you inviting a dangerous crack-head into the house,” he warns her. “Maybe we should call Lucas, ask him if—”

“Kat’s not here, and nobody’s calling Lucas,” Lexy says confidently. “Trust me. I know what I’m doing here. And I have you to protect me if not, right?”

Next we cut inside the house. Alex Junior is sitting on the couch. The camera has clearly been set up on the stand again to film him. Nate paces back and forth across the room with smashie in hand, tapping it against his hand over and over again. Alex Junior doesn’t look at all intimidated. If anything he kind of looks amused. “You know you don’t have to be here,” he tells Nate, unfazed by the apparent threat Nate is trying to pose. “I wouldn’t have come all the way here if I wanted to hurt her.”

“Yeah, well, let’s just say I have a lot of reasons not to trust you,” Nate warns him. “You ever going to tell us why you’re here?”

“I told you. I want to talk,” Alex Junior says confidently.

“Nobody’s stopping you,” Nate points out to him before holding his arms out encouragingly. “If you want to talk, then start talking.”

“Not to you,” Alex Junior tells him before laughing. Finally Lexy walks into the room with a glass in her hand with what looks like whiskey in it. She takes a sip of the drink before looking over at Alex Junior, who just smirks at her. “Your husband was keeping me company. He’s very intimidating. Is that camera on? You know you don’t need to film this. I didn’t come here to cause any problems. In fact, I came here for the opposite…”

“Yeah, well, we film pretty much everything. It’s kind of our thing,” Lexy says before shrugging. “What’s your thing, Alex? Last time I knew it was hot women – multiple women at the same time, even – and then I read that it was also drugs, and being unemployed. So… how’d that work out for you?”

“Just fine, thanks,” Alex tells her without seeming fazed in the slightest. “But I didn’t come here to talk about me. I came here to talk about you, and the things you’ve been saying, or what you think you know…”

“Hey, I don’t know anything,” Lexy insists defensively. “All I know is that it turns out Damien Adams isn’t my biological father, it turns out my mum was a big whore, and that nine months before I was born my mum was hanging around your dad…”

Alex Junior laughs and nods his head. “Yeah, and we all know the kind of guy my dad is, don’t we?” he asks before shaking his head. “You know, when I was growing up I used to admire him. I mean he was CHBK. He was a fucking icon back home. All the kids used to think I had the perfect life, the most amazing dad, but do you know how many memories I’ve got of my dad when I was a kid? I’ve got memories of my dad calling me before big events telling me that he can’t make it this time, like he made it any other time. I’ve got memories of missing my birthday because he was in Japan, or missing my sister’s birthday because he was in Germany, or missing his anniversary because he was in Mexico. But there was one thing I thought I knew about my father. No matter what else happened in our lives, there was one thing I thought I knew about him and that’s that he was honest, that he was loyal, but as it turns out… well, as it turns out he wasn’t the man people used to think he was. So, let me just tell you that you’re not the only one who’s learned about their parents and been disappointed…”

Lexy laughs and nods her head. “Yeah, and hey, at least neither of my parents run around with women younger than me, right?” she asks before letting out a sigh. “I can’t even imagine what that’s like…”

Alex scoffs. “Let’s just say we’re all really proud of him,” he says sarcastically.

“So is that it?” the redhead asks curiously. “You wanted to tell me that you relate to being disappointed in your parents?”

He shakes his head. “No. But I did come here to talk about my father,” he tells her. “Before I do that I’ve got a question: how do you see this ending?”

“How do I see what ending?” Lexy asks as Nate lifts the bat again and begins tapping it against his hand again.

Alex just looks amused. “This thing with my dad,” he says, still unfazed by Nate’s threat. “What do you imagine happening? Where do you see it going? How do you see it ending? Is there some fantasy you have that you’re going to confirm that he’s your father and… then what? He’ll take you under his wing? He’ll respect you? You’ll have some form of relationship with him? You won’t. Whatever you think is going to happen, it won’t. Whatever relationship you think you might have with my father you won’t. You don’t know him. You know what it’s like being his kid. He ruins lives. If I were you, rather than wondering if he’s my father, I’d be running in the other direction.”

Lexy laughs. “Yeah, I’ve heard that already.”

Alex looks at her, completely serious. “You should listen,” he says sternly. “You seem like a good kid. I’ve watched your show. You seem like your heart is in the right place. You don’t want to get involved with him. It won’t end well for you. It never ends well for anyone.”

Lexy shakes her head, but it’s clear that she doesn’t know what to say in response to that. “Yeah, well, I don’t even know that he’s my dad,” she says, almost defiant in her tone. “He might not be. You might have come all this way for nothing. So there’s no need to scare me off if—”

“I’m not trying to scare you off,” he tells her honestly.

“Then what are you trying to do?” she asks in that same defiant tone.

“I’m trying to help you,” Alex Junior tells her truthfully. “It might not seem that way right now, but believe me, I am. You don’t want to get involved with my father. You don’t want him being any part of your life. Whatever happened, or didn’t happen, between your mom and my dad, just forget about it. Because if you don’t, I promise you that you will regret it. He’ll make you regret it.”

Lexy looks decidedly uncomfortable. “You make it sound like it’s guaranteed that he’ll ruin my life,” she says nervously. “You don’t know that.”

“Yeah, I do,” he replies before grabbing the glass nearest him and drinking the remaining contents before putting it back down again and getting up off the couch. “Thanks for the drink. And I hope he’s not your father, I really do. You don’t know the pain that that’ll save you long term.”

Alex begins walking toward the archway that leads to the front door. Nate follows him. Lexy just stands there for a moment, completely uncertain about what she’s just heard, before sitting down on the couch and putting her head in her hands. She takes in a deep breath before looking up into the camera for a moment and getting up, walking over to it and shutting it off.

The Chapel Show

We cut from that scene to an unknown location, which seems to be a locker room. If it is however then it’s a very comfortable looking locker room. We hear music playing, the whole place looks surprisingly relaxed, and as the camera pans around slowly we see on the other side of the room Lucas Knight wrapping tape around his wrists. He’s dressed and looks ready to compete. He just smiles at Lexy, patting her leg reassuringly before getting up and heading for the door. We hear Nate from behind the camera. “Ok, I think he’s leaving. That’s good news. That means he won’t follow through on his threat to murder me if I get the camera back out again,” he says before chuckling a little. “I don’t know what the big deal is. Tonight could be the night he becomes a two-time SCW World Champion. You’d think he’d want to document that…”

Lexy walks over to him as he’s talking to the camera. “Are you still complaining about earlier, babes?” she asks, obviously amused by whatever happened between her trainer and her husband earlier in the day. “I told you, he didn’t mean it, ok? He’s just under pressure tonight of all nights. I mean you know the match he’s in. And that whole tropical storm shit messed everything up, and… well, it’ll be fine in the end. You’ll see. Lucas is going to rock it tonight.”

“Oh I have no doubt about that,” Nate says confidently. He then chuckles again and pans the camera slowly around the locker room. “And hey, look where we are, and look who else is here. For the first time all night I think we’re finally alone.”

Lexy looks around the room. “Oh, it seems you might be right…”

“And you did promise me that you’d make my behaving all day worth my while when we were alone,” Nate tells her playfully. “So, what do you say we lock the door and we have a little fun?”

“Right now?” Lexy asks before looking over at the monitor.

Nate sighs. “It’s double-elimination. Lucas is going to be out there for a while. I’m sure nothing is going to happen at the beginning of the match that’s so important that you’ll regret missing it,” Nate promises her. “Besides, who knows how long it’ll be before someone comes back here. Who knows how long it’ll be before Chris is back in here, or Kelcey, or Trinity, or… actually, now that I think about it, where the hell are they?”

Lexy shrugs. “I don’t know, planning something I think,” she says. We hear ‘Sin with A Grin’ by Shinedown playing somewhere in the distance and Lexy looks at the monitor again. She then looks back at Nate apologetically. “Sorry babes, but I really should watch the match. Lucas brought me here for a reason, you know? He wants me to watch. He wants me to experience the whole atmosphere.”

“Fine,” Nate groans before grunting disapprovingly. “But when we get back to the hotel later you’re totally making it up to me…”

“I promise,” Lexy tells him playfully. We hear ‘Alpha King’ by Rev Theory playing as Lexy looks over at the monitor again and then back at Nate. “But, I mean I guess we could give you a little tease of all the fun we’re having later…”

“Now that’s what I’m talking about,” Nate tells her before putting the camera down next to him. It seems perhaps he thinks he’s turned it off but it’s evident that he hasn’t. We hear the sound of Nate and Lexy making out before the music changes again in the background, and we now hear ‘This is How a Heart Breaks’ by Rob Thomas playing. Before long however the kissing sound stops and we hear Nate reacting to something. “Holy shit…”

“What?” Lexy asks in surprise. We then see her rushing across the locker room to the monitor to see whatever is happening on it a lot closer. Nate joins her pretty quickly and both surround the monitor, watching it all unfolding. Lexy puts her hand over her mouth in shock at something she sees before looking a little panicked. “Oh my god, his back…”

“What the hell?” Nate asks, also unable to believe what he’s seeing. “Well goddamn, this explains where Trinity is I guess… and Alex Junior? Mother fucker, I never thought we were going to see him again after the other day…”

“Lucas knew,” Lexy says in a panic. “He knew this was happening. That’s why he told me to watch the match. He promised me he had a surprise! He knew this was happening and he didn’t tell me. Why didn’t he tell me?”

“Maybe he was worried you’d react like this,” Nate points out to her. Lexy looks at him with concern. He just looks back sympathetically. “He’s the enemy, babe. You realise that, right? He’s the enemy in this situation. This is what Lucas was worried about. You need to focus on what’s important…”

“What’s important?” Lexy asks angrily. “They might have broken his BACK! That’s not being an enemy, that’s… oh god, I need to find out if he’s ok…”

“I thought Lucas told us to wait here,” Nate reminds her. She’s already heading for the door though as Nate lets out a sigh and rushes over and grabs the camera, looking at it for a moment before realising he obviously didn’t turn it off. He then heads for the door as well. We skip forward and we find security all over the place and a busy medical area with Lexy trying to push her way through security to find out what’s happening inside, but they’re holding her back. She tries to sneak through but someone grabs her from behind and picks her up off her feet and moves her away. Nate lets out a sigh. “Would you at least just tell us what’s happening? Is he ok? Look man, it’s just a question. What happened out there? Is he going to be ok?”

The security guy shakes his head. “I don’t know,” he says before pointing away. “But you do need to get out of here. You can’t be here, man. Take your camera and back off, ok?”

“Yeah, no problem,” he says, backing away from the door. Lexy is standing a little down the corridor looking pissed off. The camera moves closer to her as she looks past it and obviously at her husband. “We should get out of here. They don’t know anything yet. They’re not telling us anything. And soon enough all the chaos is going to calm down and then the rest of the security guys are going to be all over us.”

“What?” Lexy asks defensively. “I’m showing compassion for an opponent! What’s wrong with that? I’m showing compassion for my mentor’s opponent who’s injured, that’s all. Is that so terrible? I’m just… trying to be a good person here!”

“Yeah, well, after what’s just happened is it any wonder they don’t want to tell you what’s going on?” Nate asks her before sighing. “C’mon, let’s get back to the locker room. The others are probably waiting, and you’re meant to be focused on what’s happening out there…”

“Yeah, I guess…” Lexy mutters before turning and heading for the locker room. She looks back over her shoulder nervously. “I just want to know what happened…”

“I know, but now isn’t exactly the best time,” Nate reassures her. “Someone will tell us soon enough, right? Before then there are other things to focus on…”

It’s at that point that we skip forward again. We skip forward to someone, presumably Nate, holding the camera as though he’s looking for Lexy and searching the backstage area for her. He eventually finds her sitting on a pile of crates looking incredibly distant. He begins to move toward her far more slowly than his previous searching before she turns to look at him and smiles. “Hey.”

“Hey,” he says softly. “So, nobody would let me film in the locker room again. You really need to talk to them about that.”

She nods her head. “Yeah, I’ll try,” she says softly. “Don’t know what difference it’ll make though. I doubt they’ll listen to me. I don’t think they really listen to me about anything…”

“Yeah, well, they brought you here tonight, didn’t they?” Nate asks confidently. “They’re trying to teach you. Like you said, it was a huge opportunity to come here and be a part of tonight, and ok maybe it hasn’t worked out exactly the way they all planned but even so… do they know where you are right now?”

She shakes her head. “Didn’t tell them.”

“Do you think that’s the smartest idea?” Nate asks, a little conflicted by the sound of his tone. “What if they go looking for you? What if they want to know what happened to you? They wanted you here, Lex. They wanted you to be a part of tonight. They said you and Kat are the future of the Monarchy and—”

“Yeah, the future,” Lexy says, clearly conflicted in the way she’s feeling as well. She lets out a sigh before looking over at Nate. “Look, it’s not that I don’t appreciate it, you know? I do. I appreciate everything they’ve done for me. I appreciate everything they’ve taught me. I appreciate everything Lucas did, all the strings he pulled, the fact that they introduced me to Kat, and I want to be the future, I do. But sometimes, some of the stuff they do… I don’t know. Don’t you think it’s going too far?”

Nate hesitates before he replies. “Is this about CHBK?”

She nods her head slowly. “They took him to the hospital,” she says. “Or at least, that’s what the guy in medical told me. He’s got a history of back problems. They wouldn’t say how bad it is. I don’t think they even know. But they took him to the hospital and… am I meant to be ok with this? Am I meant to be celebrating it? I don’t know how I’m supposed to feel right now, babes. I mean I want to be the best! I want to get to the top. I want to prove to everyone how good I can be, I really do, but… I don’t know, crippling people? Ruining their lives? I mean… is that what it’s really all about?”

Nate stays silent for a moment before he begins to move closer to her. He stops for a moment, focused on something in Lexy’s right hand. “What’s that?”

Lexy holds it up. It appears to be a white towel. It looks like it has a bloodstain on it. “They said he might have internal injuries,” she says, looking at the towel. “They said he was coughing up blood. I found this in the room and… I’m pretty sure it’s his blood. I mean I need a DNA sample, right? I need a DNA sample and I found this towel and… what if this is what I’ve been waiting for? This could prove it…”

Nate hesitates again. “You don’t seem very happy about that…”

Lexy looks away for a moment. When she looks back at her husband she has tears in her eyes. “What if he is my dad?” she asks nervously. “What if I get this tested and I find out he’s my dad, and my friends… and… and what if Alex is right? What if it will ruin everything? Maybe I should just throw this away. What do you think? Maybe I should just toss this in the trash and never know. Maybe that’ll make it easier…”

“Yeah, maybe you should,” Nate tells her. She looks surprised to hear that response. “There. Right there, that’s how you feel. You want to know. If this is your chance, maybe this is how you find out once and for all.”

Lexy nods her head. “Yeah, maybe…”

Nate walks up to her. He jumps up on the crates and sits down next to her before filming them both. “Shit got real tonight,” he tells her lovingly. “You might need to make a choice, babe. Whose side are you on?”

“Lucas’s side,” Lexy replies immediately. “I’m on Lucas’s side but… well, that doesn’t mean I need to blindly support everything he does, right?”

She laughs then and looks at the towel in her hand again. “Is it dangerous walking around with that?” he asks uncertainly. “I mean, it’s not like we know where he’s been…”

Lexy just laughs. “Imagine how much this is worth on eBay…”

“Oh yeah…” Nate replies excitedly before acting all calm. “You know, if you change your mind and you don’t want to find out…”

Lexy just laughs again as the video cuts out.

The Chapel Show

We cut from backstage at SCW’s pay per view to another video back in the living room of the home of Lexy and Nate Chapel. Lexy is pacing around the living room nervously. In her hand she’s carrying an unopened envelope. Nate is sitting on the couch watching her. “Babe, you’re going to wear out the floor if you keep pacing,” he tells her. She glares at him for a moment and then continues pacing. “Ok then, well then let me ask you this. How much longer are you going to keep pacing? Because, you know, eventually you’re just going to have to open the envelope and look…”

“You think I don’t know that?” she asks him, seeming a little crazy. “You think I’m not thinking about that? I am, babes. I am definitely thinking about that! I waited all week for this. I called them repeatedly. I went to collect the stupid results because they said I wouldn’t get them sent out until Monday and we’re in Japan on Monday and I was NOT waiting until we got back. I mean, how could I possibly wait that long?”

“Says the woman who still hasn’t opened the envelope…” Nate reminds her softly.

Lexy stops and looks at the envelope in her hand before shaking her head. “I can’t,” she says nervously. “I’ve thought about this for so long. I’ve thought so much about what if we’re wrong and what if nothing happened between him and my mum, and what if she met someone else and I’m their daughter, you know? It’s not like we can ask her. So I think I could open this envelope and the results will be negative and everything will be fine. I mean, I’ll have been worried about nothing and we’ll be back to square one, and…ok, so I won’t know who my father is but a whole bunch of stuff will be meaningless, and that’s good, right?”

“So you want it to be negative?” Nate asks.

Lexy nods her head. “Yeah. Yeah, that’s what I want. I want it to be negative,” she says before beginning to pace again. “I mean that’s what’s best for everyone, right? It’s definitely what’s best for everyone. I mean I didn’t ask for any of this…”

Nate nods in agreement. “No, you didn’t,” he says supportively. “But what if it’s not negative…”

“Then… then he’s my dad,” Lexy says nervously. “I mean, what does that even mean? What do we do about that? I don’t know. I don’t know what happens after that. But… I need to know, right? That’s why I got them to do the test. That’s why we took the sample in. That’s why we did all of this. And if he’s my dad then we’ll… we’ll deal with it, right? We’ll… oh shit, what if he is my dad?”

Nate shrugs. “I don’t know,” he says before holding out his hand toward the envelope and trying to sneak it out of her hand. “But, you know, if it helps I could look for you…”

“Oh, you’d like that, wouldn’t you? You’d LIKE that,” she says, pulling the envelope away before even she realises she’s sounding a little crazy. “I mean… I don’t know what I mean.”

“So, you definitely don’t want me to open it?” Nate asks.

“I don’t know what I want,” she admits.

“Typical woman,” Nate can just about be heard muttering. Lexy glares at him and he tries backpedalling. “I mean… err… love you, babe?”

Lexy rolls her eyes. “Yeah, I love you too babes,” she says before letting out a sigh. We hear the front door opening and shutting and we hear someone moving something around, or dropping something in the other room, before Kat Kelly appears in the archway leading in from the foyer area. She stands Kat Kellythere looking at Lexy before Lexy throws her hands up. “Oh god, finally! Where the hell have you been? I’ve been texting you for hours!”

“Yes, I know, based on the fact that I have about ninety goddamn text messages from you,” Kat tells her, obviously unimpressed. “What’s going on? I tried reading them but I swear you made absolutely no sense. Something about how you need support, how you need me to be here, and… seriously, what’s going on? You’re not pregnant, are you?”

“Oh god, I wish I was pregnant,” Lexy exclaims before looking at Nate. “Err, no, babes, actually I don’t. Don’t go getting any ideas. You’re still wearing condoms!”

Kat completely ignores that, and Nate’s disappointed reaction to it. “Ok, so what is the problem then?” she asks, obviously annoyed. “If something is going on you should definitely tell me.”

“I, um… err… you know how you said I should let things go with finding out if you-know-who is my dad?” she asks nervously. Kat nods and looks like she’s about to reply when Lexy interrupts her. “Well, I didn’t. I kind of did the exact opposite to that and I… um…”

Lexy holds up the envelope. Kat stares at it in disbelief. “Is that a paternity test?”

Lexy nods her head slowly. “Uh-huh.”

Kat stares in disbelief. “How did you…?”

“It’s a long story. I stole a towel with his blood on it and… oh, I guess it’s not actually that long of a story,” Lexy replies before shrugging. “But, see, there’s a problem because I… um… I can’t open it. I want to, but I… will you?”

“Hey, how come she gets to,” Nate complains. “I’ve been offering all day!”

“Because she understands,” Lexy tells her husband before looking at her tag team partner again with something of a look of desperation in her eyes. “You do understand, right? You know what it’s like. You know how it feels to have the uncertainty and… how it feels to need to know the truth and… I mean, I know the situations aren’t exactly the same but you know how it feels to not know who you are…”

Kat nods her head slowly. “Yeah, I understand,” she says before stepping into the room and holding out her hand. Lexy paces back and forth again before finally handing her partner the envelope. The tomboy looks at it for a long moment before running her finger along the top of it. “So, you’re sure you want me to read this? You just want me to rip it open and tell you what it says?”

Lexy nods. “Yeah, that’s what I want,” she says nervously. Kat goes to open it and Lexy suddenly grabs her hands to stop her. “Wait, I’m not ready yet! I just… I don’t know what it’s going to say.”

“Yeah, we can definitely wait. You can catch your breath and…” Kat says before ripping open the top of the envelope before Lexy can stop her. “Whoops! Oh well, now it’s open I guess we’ll need to look inside…”

Lexy glares angrily at her before laughing a little. “Ok, fine,” she says before hesitating. “Just… just tell me what it says.”

“What do you want it to say?” Kat asks softly.

“I, um… I want it to be negative,” Lexy admits to her. “I’ve been thinking about it since Sunday and… it’s a such a mess, you know? I mean, of all people to be my dad I think he’s like the worst possible choice! If it’s him… I mean, if it’s him… oh god, it’ll all get so complicated, and I don’t think Lucas trusts me with anything involving him already but if he is my dad then… I mean, I can’t mess this up with Lucas, you know? He’s my mentor. He’s helped me so much! It’d just be so much easier if he’s not my dad.”

Kat nods her head in agreement. “Yeah, it will,” she says before slowly removing the letter from the envelope. Before unfolding it she looks up at Lexy, who’s looking almost white, and nods toward the couch where Nate is sitting. “You should probably sit down. You look like you’re about to pass out.”

“Yeah, I probably should,” she says before walking over and sitting down next to her husband. Nate puts his arm around her. She looks up at Kat nervously. “Ok, I’m ready…”

“Ok…” Kat says softly before removing the letter from the envelope. She scans it for a moment before smiling at Lexy. “Well, I’ve got some good news. He’s not your father…”

“He’s not?” Lexy asks, looking like she’s not sure how to feel.

“He’s not?” Nate asks, clearly far happier. “Oh thank fuck for that! Goddamn, now I know how those guys on Maury feel when he tells them that. It’s such a fucking relief! I want to leap off the couch and dance! Yeah, he’s NOT the father!”

Nate jumps up off the couch and high fives Kat who’s smiling happily as well. Lexy, meanwhile, continues to look like she’s not sure how she should feel. “You ok?” Kat asks her. “This is good news, right?”

“Yeah,” Lexy says before nodding her head and trying to look a little more positive. “I mean yeah, it is. It’s great news! This makes everything so much easier. It’s just… I guess I was so prepared for the worst-case scenario, you know? I think I’d even gotten used to it a little. And now… well, it’s good news!”

“Yeah, it is,” Kat says before handing her the letter and envelope and letting out a sigh. “Ok, you should probably read it…”

“What?” Lexy asks, looking at her partner confused. “Why would I…?”

“Just read it,” Kat says. Lexy unfolds the letter in confusion and starts reading it before her eyes go wide and she looks up at Kat in shock. “I’m sorry. When I read it I thought… you said it would be easier if he wasn’t your dad and… I thought that’s what you wanted.”

Nate reappears again with three glasses and a bottle of wine. “Hell yeah, it’s time to celebrate,” he says excitedly before he sees the look in his wife’s eyes, the letter in her hand, and the fact that Kat puts her arms around her and hugs her. “Ok, fuck… what did I miss?”

“He’s my dad…” Lexy says as she looks up. Tears begin to fill her eyes. “Oh god, he’s my dad. Alex Desoubrais is my father!”

“But, you said…” Nate says before looking at Kat and then sighing and putting the glasses down on the table. He opens the bottle of wine and begins pouring a glass for each of them. “Ok, well… I think we all need a drink.”

Lexy reaches forward and grabs the first glass he fills up, putting the letter and envelope down on the table before downing the glass of wine and holding it out for more. Nate refills it and Lexy downs it again before shaking her head. “No, this won’t do, I need something way stronger,” she says before getting up off the couch and walking over to a cabinet, opening it up and pulling out a bottle of Jack Daniels. She pulls out a glass as well, opens the bottle, lines up the bottle as though she’s about to pour it and then just starts drinking from the bottle instead. She shakes her head before looking back at the others. “Oh god, that’s… ugh!”

“Don’t drink too much, yeah?” Kat suggests supportively. “Trust me, it won’t help. I’ve tried it.”

“Yeah, well…” Lexy groans before taking another drink from the bottle and having the same reaction again. “Ok, so… one of you tell me, what the fuck do we do now? I mean, he’s my… CHBK is my… and I’m his… oh fuck, this is so bad!”

“I don’t know,” Kat suggests before reaching forward and taking another of the glasses that Nate’s filled before downing it and then just taking the bottle from him before he can fill up a glass for himself and starting to drink from it. “We’ll figure it out. We’ve got to, right? And… whatever happens… you know that…?”

Lexy nods her head before taking another drink of JD and almost choking. “Ugh, god, that’s so gross,” she groans before taking another drink. “Oh fuck, this is so bad. What the fuck are we going to do?”

The Chapel Show

We cut from that moment back to Lexy sitting on her bed. She lets out a sigh and nods her head. “Yep. So, we’ve had four weeks off, and we filmed a whole bunch of stuff for you guys, and… then yesterday happened and… well, let’s just say that everything else we filmed felt a lot less important,” she says before laughing. “I woke up this morning with a hell of a hangover, which is probably not the best way to start the weekend when we’ve got a flight over to Japan in a few hours. But it’s official. I know who my father is. And I could have approached this in a lot of different ways, but I chose this way. I chose to record this video on Saturday morning because I want you fuckers to know the truth right along with me. I want you to know that I am not happy about any of this, that I didn’t ask for any of this, and I also know that this changes a lot of things. For a start, it changes my career. I entered this business with no pressure on me. Lexy ChapelI’m a second generation star, sure, and I grew up with a whole bunch of people idolising my parents, and idolising my brother’s, but here’s the thing: they never accomplished anything! Between all four of them they couldn’t even break into a serious foreign market. A few tours here and there in Japan, big in Europe, barely noticed in Mexico and unknown in America.  I walked into this business as a second generation star who, just by making it in America, accomplished more than her parents ever did!”

She starts laughing and nods her head. “Yep, or at least that’s the way it used to be,” she says before shaking her head. “And now? Well, now that’s changed, hasn’t it? Now that’s changed quite a lot. Now I have a pressure on me. Or do I? Now I know that I’m CHBK’s illegitimate love child. Now I know that everything about my life that I thought I knew was a lie! But now I know who I am. And what does that mean? Well… it means maybe I do have a legacy to live up to suddenly, but then do I? When you think about CHBK, what do you think about? Do you think about multi-time World Champion and legend of the business, or do you think about the guy who rubbed everyone the wrong way and paid for it as everyone went after him? Do you think about the performer who won the first ever Taking Hold of the Flame in SCW, or the guy whose ass Lucas Knight kicked TWICE at the biggest event of the year? Seriously, what do you think about when you think about him? Because let me tell you this. What I said before? I said it with a purpose. Lexy Chapel and Kat Kelly are the greatest IWC Tag Team Champions in IWC history. Lexy Chapel and Kat Kelly are the two people everyone in this company is talking about because we didn’t sit back and wait for our chances; we went out there and SEIZED them! And I am the one who pinned Selena Frost at Awakening…”

She smirks at the camera again. “So, now I know the truth about who I am, and you fuckers know it too, so what does that change? Does that put the pressure on me? Am I expected now to do everything that my biological father has done?” she asks before beginning to laugh. “No. I’m not going to become the British Heartbreak Kid. I’m not going to become the Mistress of the Mind Games. I’m not looking to be the second Canadian Heartbreak Kid, my goal is the same as it’s always been and the only thing I’m looking to be is the FIRST Lexy Chapel! But there is something that I apparently have in common with my biological father, and it must run in my blood… there’s nothing I enjoy more than kicking people in the face. Kat and I made our name in IWC by doing exactly that, we made our statement to the world when we dropped Selena Frost with the NC-17 at Awakening, and now with everyone talking about the number one contendership tournament I think it’s time to give you all something new to talk about, namely the fact that this week I’m hand-delivering the invitation to the IWC World Champion herself, and I’m personally inviting her to the Superkick Soiree! And guys, there’s going to be a party atmosphere this week in Sapporo, the Sapporo Dome is going to be rocking this week, and all the parents out there need to know something: this week my match with Katelyn Buehler will contain Explicit Content!”

She grins before shrugging her shoulders innocently. “But then that’s something that Katelyn knows all about, isn’t it? That’s something she’s shockingly familiar with, because didn’t she already experience that once before? Yeah, yeah she did. She experienced it on July 20th when Tay-Tay and Kay-Kay teamed up in their quest to take the IWC Tag Team Championships away from Wicked Intent, and we all know how that ended, don’t we?” she asks before patting the IWC Tag Team Championship that lays on the bed next to her. “Yeah, I remember. I remember it ending when Tay-Tay took a kendo stick and hit me in the back. I remember dropping Katelyn Buehler on her head only for Taylor Chase to cost me the pin. I remember it oh so well, and I’ve been itching for another chance to get back into the ring with Katelyn again ever since simply because I’ve never liked that it ended like that. I had a chance to make a statement on that night. Wicked Intent had a chance to make a statement on that night. It was the same statement we made at Awakening, and we could have made it on July 20th but no, we were robbed of that opportunity. We were robbed of the opportunity to stand over Katelyn Buehler, number one contender to the World Championship, with smiles on our faces and songs in our hearts. Instead it was cheapened by the disqualification…”

“Who’s going to cheapen it this week, Katelyn?” Lexy asks with a grin on her face. “Who’s going to save you this time around? If I pick you up in position and I spike you on your head with the Explicit Content, if the world watches one half of the IWC Tag Team Champions drop the IWC World Champion on her head and roll her over and pin her shoulders down… then who’s going to save you this time? Is it going to be Tay-Tay again? Is she going to come rushing to your aid? No, I’m not so sure she is. Because right now Katelyn you’re about to make the biggest discovery anyone can make in this business. When you’re the one on top you’re absolutely alone. You might have friends. You might have supporters. You might love going on Twitter and praising them and celebrating them and wishing them all kinds of luck, and they might do the same to you every goddamn week, but when you’re on top that changes because then all of a sudden everyone in that tournament is going to have their eyes glued to this match, watching every move you make, watching every time you get hit, watching you closer than they EVER have before because now they’re not admiring you, Katelyn. Now they’re not cheering you on. Now they’re looking for weaknesses. Now they’re looking for chinks in the armour. And now they’re waiting for you to fail…”

She laughs and nods her head. “I know but trust me, I’ve been around this business since I was a kid. I know you think that it won’t be the same with you. I know you think those people are your friends. They’re not, Katelyn. Not when it comes to that title. Those people only look at you as a target when it comes to that title. They’re begging to see you fail so that you lose momentum, so that you expose a weakness, and they all think that all they need to do is win a few matches, become number one contender, and then expose that very same weakness and drop you to the mat,” Lexy tells her with a grin on her face. “After all, do you really think they care about you? No. The fans do, though. The company does, it would seem. It’s not everyone after all who gets columns written about their careers and their best moments. And that article told a lovely story as well, it really did. It told this fantastical story about this young woman who’d been through so much, who’d struggled so hard in her life, and how she got the opportunity of a lifetime and tried as hard as she could but couldn’t quite make it. Then it told the story about her rise to prominence, her determination to show that she was good enough after so many doubted her, her quest to overcome all the odds and to beat Serenity in the middle of the ring, to achieve her dream, to become the IWC World Champion…”

Lexy pretends to get all emotional over the story, even going so far as to wipe an imaginary tear of joy from her eye, before then just beginning to laugh. “Oh god, it was such a story, but now you’ve written the climax but that’s the thing about the great stories, Katelyn. That’s the thing about the big moments. That’s where the movie ends, isn’t it? That’s where the story comes to a close. You’ve reached the pinnacle, you’ve achieved the impossible, the credits roll, the people cry and hug each other in joy… but in real life the story continues on. In real life the moment of triumph isn’t the end of the story, it’s just the beginning of the next chapter, and that chapter isn’t a fairy tale. Like I said, now everyone is after you. Now they want to see you fail. And then there’s me. Then there’s little Lexy Chapel. And I can imagine why they booked this match. They wanted you to have a moment. They wanted you to get a chance to show what you’ve got. They figured that you and Tay-Tay overcame Wicked Intent before, and now you’ve got a chance to get revenge for July 20th, and oh what a story you could tell… but that’s not how it’s going to turn out,” she says before laughing. “No, because you’ve been given this chance to show what you’ve got as champion, and I’ve been given a chance to make a statement heard around the world!”

“Now let me be completely honest with you, Katelyn. This has nothing to do with the IWC World Championship. I’m not entering this match thinking ‘if I pin her I’ll be in line for a title shot’. That’s not my motivation. You think I give a damn about that title? You think that I think I’m ready to hold that title? No. I’m still learning. My motivation has nothing to do with a quest for the IWC World Championship; my motivation is solely to be the half of the IWC Tag Team Champions who PINNED the IWC World Champion. That’s my motivation. My motivation is to build my legacy. My legacy, as I said before, is to show the world that I’m not the second Lucas Knight, I’m not the second CHBK, I’m the FIRST Lexy Chapel and the legacy that Lexy Chapel puts together is going to be that much more impressive than all those others,” she says before grinning confidently. “And you know what, Kay-Kay? I’ve earned this chance! Oh yeah, I have. I’ve EARNED a chance to step out on a global stage and be recognised as one of the hottest up and coming talents in this company. Yeah, me! Not Marina Valdivia. Not Selena Frost. Not Scott Cannon. They all think that they’re the future of IWC, they all think that they’re the next big thing, but this week, up against Katelyn Buehler, I get a chance to Superkick my way into a spotlight that I’ve been fighting for all my life.”

“I mean, look at you Katelyn,” Lexy says before rolling her eyes. “Just look at yourself. Sure, you’ve got this great inspirational story, sure you’re the gutter girl who made herself into a star, but you’re not the only one who has something to prove, bitch. I’ve fought my way up from my role as the little daughter of two failed wrestlers who tried to be reality TV stars. I’ve fought my way up from my role as the little girl who was told who she could talk to, who she could date and who she was supposed to love. I’m the girl who ran away to America to find herself a better life, the girl who busted her ass to even get noticed by the bigger companies, the girl who slept in her car and busted her ass in the ring for less money than it took to fill the car back up with gas to get back home again, let alone pay for anything like, oh, I don’t know, food that I needed. I’m the girl who worked as a waitress during the day and busted her ass training at night just for the chance of making it in this business, and this week on Riot I don’t just have a chance to show I made it, I have a chance to fight the reigning IWC World Champion, to drop her on her head, to stand over her body in the ring, to raise up the IWC Tag Team Championship over my head and to show the world that in a battle of CHAMPION versus CHAMPION it was this bitch left standing!”

She laughs proudly before taking the IWC Tag Team title and raising it over her head before slapping it down over her shoulder. “I know how good you can be, Katelyn. We’ve been in the ring before. I’ve watched your rise through the company. And I’ve had four weeks – four weeks – to prepare for this. You think in that time I haven’t watched everything you’ve done? You think I haven’t gone back to the old days and watched Katelyn Buehler’s struggles through SCW? You think I haven’t spoken to Lucas every goddamn day asking him about you, asking about what he remembers, asking him to help me pick out your weaknesses, asking him what I need to do when you go for that Roaring Elbow, or that ‘All But Innocent’ driver? You think I don’t know your best shots, Katelyn? I do. I know the best you’ve got, and this Monday night in front of the Japanese fans I’m going to show you mine,” she says with a grin. “At Awakening you saw Alistair Taylor open his eyes and join the winning team. At Riot you get to see just how winning this team really is. This Monday night Something Wicked is coming your way, this Monday I’ll be Raising The Standard and showing the world what Explicit Content is all about, this week little Lexy Chapel wins Champion versus Champion by pinning the IWC World Champion with a smile on her face. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the way I roll. So come back next time for the celebration, subscribe, rate, and get ready. Get ready for one half of the 2015 Tag Team of the Year, get ready for one half of the IWC Tag Team Champions, to prove herself on Riot. I’ve been Lexy Chapel and this has been the Chapel Show. Until next time, fuckers…”

She holds up her title belt again and smirks at the camera before we fade out slowly and the video ends. The moment it does the replay button flashes up on the screen.
